8 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing Machame – Mweka Route
Day 1: Nairobi / Moshi
Depart Nairobi early this morning with a shuttle to Moshi town, over the
Tanzanian border. Upon your arrival, you can have the option of taking a
walking safari with your guide, visit the colorful Moshi Market, or you
may prefer just to relax in your hotel for the afternoon, in preparation
for your trek tomorrow.
Day 2: Moshi / Machame camp (3000m)
After a full breakfast at your hotel, we can drive to Machame park gate
where we can begin our trek through rain forest to Machame camp at an
altitude of 3000m.We can stop for a picnic lunch along the way, and this
hike will take us about 5- 6hours before we arrive at our camp in time for
dinner tonight.
mount kilimanjaro Day 3: Machame / Shira Camp ( 3840m)
This morning we can continue our trek to the next camp which is about a 4-
5hour hike, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. We will arrive at
Shira Camp at 3840m in good time for dinner.
Day 4: Shira / Baranco Camp (3950m)
We can have an early start this morning heading to Baranco camp where we
will sleep tonight at an altitude of 3950m. From Baranco camp, we can then
continue onto Lava Tower for acclimatisation at 4600m, for a picnic lunch.
This climb will take us a total of 6- 7 hours, and we can return to
Baranco camp in time for dinner.
Day 5: Baranco / Karanga Camp (4000m)
After breakfast we can begin our climb of the Baranco Walls which reaches
4250m before arriving at Karanga camp at an altitude of 4000m, in time for
a hot lunch and a rest. This will take us about 3- 4 hours, and it will be
a good idea to walk around this afternoon for acclimatisation purposes. We
will have dinner here at Karanga camp tonight and can spend the night
here.
Day 6: Karanga / Barafu Camp (4600m)
This morning we can continue our hike up to Barafu camp at 4600m which
will take us 3- 4 hours. An early dinner and sleep this evening
Day 7: Barafu / Uhuru peak (5895m) / Mweka camp (3100m)
Wake up for a hot drink and snacks at 11pm to warm us for our 6- 7 hour
hike to the Uhuru peak 5895m!! We should arrive at the summit of
Mt.Kilimanjaro in time for high fives with the sunrise!!. From the highest
point of Africa’s highest mountain, we have about 3 hours to climb down to
Barafu camp, where we can have a full breakfast and take the morning to
relax before also having lunch here. Well refreshed, we can then continue
our descent for another 3- 4 hours to arrive at Mweka camp (3100m) in time
for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 8: Mweka / Moshi
After breakfast we can make our final descent through rain forest to Mweka
park gate which will take us about 3- 4 hours, where our vehicle will be
waiting to transfer us back to Moshi town. You should arrive in your
welcoming hotel in time for a hot shower before lunch! From here you can
have arranged to take an eco- tour safari walk to a nearby Maasai village,
leave on safari to a Tanzanian National Park, or to transfer to the next
destination of your choice tomorrow, or even later today if required.

-3 Meals a day ( special diet vegetarian and hallal).
-Accommodations in camps/huts as per the itinerary.

-Start and finish Nairobi.
-Water -You just need bottled water only the first day. The rest of the
days we boil
or add purifying tablets then filter using MSR water filtering pump before
refilling
in your water bottles in the morning.
-Rescue fee.
-H.F Radio communication for backup incase or rescue.

-Laundry.
-Tips.
-Hikking equipments.
-Soft drinks.
-Accommodation before and after the trek.
-climbing gears ( we have them for hire).
-International flights.
-Visas to Kenya.
-Items of personal nature.
-Any other extras not detailed in the above itinerary.
-No mosquito net.
NB: Proper equipments are vital to safe and enjoyable trek.
Sample Food Menu
During our expedition we normally provide enough, fresh and clean food.
When it
comes to cooking we cook different food at different elevation putting into
consideration of the boiling point at different heights so that the food
will be
well cooked for easier digestion. We also have food supply on the Mountain
to make
sure that there is enough and fresh food through out the trek.
Considering all that, you need water to avoid dehydration, we will provide
you with
fresh fruits.
BREAKFAST: Fruit Juice, Fruit, Cereal/Porridge, Eggs
bread/French-toast/Plain-
Tea/Coffee/Drinking chocolate. Boiled egg, spinach omelet or fried egg
with beacon
and bread.
SNACKS: Peanuts/Crisps/Popcorn/
LUNCH: Sliced Carrot and Cucumber stripes, Avocado slices, Boiled egg,
Vegetable/Meat cutlets, Sandwiches (Egg/ Cheese/Tomato/Tuna/Meat/Peanut
butter),
Fruit. Boiled egg, salami sandwich, cheese, French toast, Macaroni, meat
sauce and
bread.
DINNER: Soup of the day, Bread, Salad, Rice/Pasta/Potatoes, Chicken/Meat,
Mixed
Vegetables (Carrot/French -Beans/Cabbage), Lentils, Fruit Salad, Fruit
with custard,
Tea/Coffee/Milo/Drinking chocolate. Spaghetti with meat sauce or fish with
rice,
Fried beef with roast potatoes, rice, carrots, cabbage. Roast chicken with
vegetable, fried rice, green pepper, carrots.
ON WAY TO THE SUMMIT (midnight snack) Hot Chocolate, Tea or coffee and
biscuits,
Glucose, Chocolate bar, orange squash or soup.
NOTE: We are flexible and willing to accept Tourist suggestions on Food
menu and
equipments information during our trek.
NB: You have the right to bring your food if you see any need to do so.
But on our side, the food will be enough and fresh to avoid any side
effects.
